Applying to study at the College
The Bachelor of Chiropractic (BChiro) is a five-year professional degree. Four years are completed at the New Zealand College of Chiropractic and one prerequisite year of specific basic health science courses must be completed prior to starting at the College.
We accept applications all year around. If you still need to complete prerequisite courses, you will need to make yourself familiar with and adhere to the application dates of the tertiary education institute that you want to study your prerequisite courses.
The College manages a competitive enrolment process. Applicants are expected to have performed well academically, and have a good understanding of chiropractic and how our guiding philosophy drives our vision of a world of people expressing optimal potential.

Application process
To be considered for an offer of enrolment, you will have successfully completed all parts of the application process.
The first step is to complete and return an application form along with all supporting documents.
The Admissions Team will assess any previous tertiary study, then work with you to determine your prerequisite study pathway.
You will receive a Letter of Intent that formalises your interest in studying with the College and outlines your pathway. If you are completing your prerequisite study at AUT, you will be required to submit this letter as part of their application process.
To help us to get to know you better, you will be invited to an online interview, asked to complete a critical thinking assessment and write an essay.
Once you have successfully completed your prerequisite courses and met all admissions requirements, you will be considered for enrolment.
Offer of enrolment
The College offers enrolment three times per year as follows for our annual intake in January.
Priority 1 Enrolment – Offered to approved applicants who have completed and met all admission requirements.
